Position Overview

The Quality Systems Manager/Sr. Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Quality Systems at IEC Electronics.

The Quality Systems Manager interfaces with Senior Management for Quality Systems Reviews; with all departments for the development, documentation and monitoring of the quality system processes, with customers and registrars for third party audits. The Quality Systems Manager regularly reports to all groups on the status of IEC’s quality system.

The Quality Systems Manager’s most important function is to ensure the Quality Systems are suitable, adequate, and effective.

Quality Assurance Manager Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the quality system to ensure compliance with requirements such as ISO9001, ISO13485, AS9100, FDA and Nadcap.
  • Define and implement quality system procedures in conjunction with staff of various disciplines.
  • Schedule quality systems internal and external audits.
  • Lead auditor team and actively participates in quality system audits.
  • Act as FDA Correspondent, and for Sr. Manager level, act as Management Representative.
  • Report to Management on the quality systems suitability, adequacy, and effectiveness.
  • For Sr. Manager level, assist the Corporate Director of Quality and Operational Excellence in managing and communicating the company’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Support other company initiatives, as required.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.

Minimum Experience: 5 - 10 years experience in a Quality System Leadership role

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Excellent understanding of QMS/Industry standards (AS9100, ISO 13485, FDA, Nadcap)
  • Ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with all stakeholders.
  • Ability to write documents such as procedures and work instructions.
  • Ability to train auditors on the standards and audit process and to train employees on procedures.

Computer Skills:

  • Intermediate Microsoft Word skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as create moderately complex documents containing tables and graphs, and ability to mail merge documents, apply page setup functions (margins, page numbers, footers, headers), create an index and/or table of contents, use search & replace, print labels and envelopes.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills as evidenced by the ability to perform all of the basic functions as well as the ability to use workbooks, link data, create and edit charts, change page orientation, add headers and footers, filter and sort lists, format data, insert rows, enter and sort data and produce graphs and charts.
  • Intermediate Microsoft PowerPoint skills as evidenced by the ability to create (from a master template) standard IEC reports including charts, pictures and notation.
  • Familiarity with internet usage

Physical Activity Requirements

Work Environment: Office environment where the noise level is generally quiet to moderately noisy

Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs
