Position Overview

Quality:

A quality team leader is an expert in quality inspection activities such as processing and inspection of materials to aid with production.

Is heavily involved in motivating members of the team to harness their potentials and work harder for the execution of projects.

  • Working with the supervisor or manager, reviews production schedules, prioritizes items per the scheduled completion and/or delivery date by providing status on open work orders.
  • Coordinates materials and assigns tasks to team members and giving them specific directions and procedures to follow in carrying out assigned tasks. As well as monitoring team members in the course of their work and ensure that they comply with the standards of operations obtainable in the company.
  • They are responsible for providing leadership for the team involved in inspection and to guide the team in ensuring efficiency and quality as well as providing the team with department goals and performance indicators.
  • He/she exhibits great leadership skills by showcasing knowledge and skills to the team members, giving them direction to go about their tasks and duties on the job. The leader sometimes step in and shows his/her team members practical ways to execute difficult tasks. This gives the team members a clear direction of how to tackle such tasks on their own in the future.
  • The Quality Leader recognizes the contributions of every team member and encourages them to work together in harmony, sharing ideas and maintaining good relationships in the execution of production tasks.
  • He/she places the safety of the team members in high esteem and educates them on safety tips and procedures to adhere to during the inspection process. He/she also enlightens them on how to handle emergencies that may arise in the course of work, and ensures that the manufacturing site is free of any form of danger, and is safe for team members to do their job. As part of safety measures, the leader also ensures that all workers have protective gear and ESD clothing before going to the area of work to safeguard themselves against production hazards and to protect our customer’s products.
  • Works with Quality Engineering, Quality Technicians and Engineering; to provide feedback on Proto and NPI builds and to identify root cause and provide input for corrective actions.
  • Create work schedule for workers and ensure that they strictly adhere to it. Take attendance to ensure regularity and promptness of workers to their work area such as start, end, and break and lunch times.
  • Work as the liaison between workers and management to create healthy communication.
  • Ensure that work materials, tools and documentation are present when needed.
  • Responsible for the training inspectors in unison with the training department.
  • Responsible for 6S procedure (FAC-005G) and format for their areas.
  • Fully understand how all product is to be inspected in their area based on engineering and quality specifications for IEC and our customers.
  • Has a full understanding of IEC systems used during inspection
  • Has strong knowledge of the metrics used for their areas and how to display it in a visual factory format.
  • Reports results of the processing flow on shift production reports for the daily shift pass downs.
  • Gathers quality data to support areas of concern to inspectors
  • When needed help with inspection product per appropriate industry standard
  • Support continual improvement activities when needed
  • Perform internal audits (product and/or system)
  • Identify and highlight to senior leadership team training needs

Administration:

  • Keep in line with company’s accredited certifications and safety policy
  • Must maintain a broad knowledge of IEC policies and general Quality knowledge to ensure familiarity with a large variety of product types and customer requirements

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree preferred; High School diploma or equivalent minimum experience requirements, 2-3 years experience in a similar role, or a combination of education and experience

Other Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

High School Diploma

Work Environment: Manufacturing environment where the noise level is low to moderately noisy

Work Position: Sitting, Standing, Walking around

  • Weight Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 20 lbs
